During a showing of the Episode of the Island of Perpetual Winter, a teaser for the tenth movie was revealed, which will be released on December 12, 2009 (though was originally meant for a spring release).

What is known about the film is that it is an original story written by Eiichiro Oda himself in honor of One Piece’s Tenth Anniversary (In previous films he only supplied character designs and approved story ideas. For this one Toei personally asked if he would write the story). The movie is apparently set after the Thriller Bark Arc, as Brook is shown alongside the other Straw Hats, making this his first movie appearance. Sengoku, Garp, Shanks and Whitebeard are revealed to be in the film as well.

The movie seems to focus on Nami, who looks to have gotten herself into a situation and possibly forced to leave the Straw Hats once again to join the enemy. In this case, a figure named Kinjishi who for 22 years ago controlled the largest pirate fleet and in the movie have gathered 5000 new men. The movie also seem to deal with a “Crystal” ship log. A teaser trailer was revealed at the Tokyo Animation Fair 2009, revealing the title of the movie as “Strong World”.

Recently a new trailer for the movie has been showing giving more insight to the movie: the film shows the Straw Hats stumbling on some flying islands that is used as a pirate ship which are apparently ruled over by Kinjishi. The lands are inhabited by a many strange and exotic animals that one of Kinjishi´s men has mutated with some sort of elixir but they’re under Kinjishi’s control. What more the Marines are trying to stop Kinjishi because he is trying to destroy the world they have build and make pirates rule it forever. The Straw Hats get involved in the conflict, especially after Shiki kidnaps Nami, and try to stop whatever he has planned.

The first 1.5 million japanese moviegoers who see One Piece Film Strong World will receive the “0th volume” (One Piece: Kan-Zero) of the manga. In the upcoming “One Piece Kan-Zero” bonus gift will depict the world of One Piece from 20 years ago. It’s said this volume is directly related to the plot of the movie — in particular, the Pirate King Gol D. Roger versus the legendary pirate “Gold Lion” Shiki.

After escaping from the net, Luffy knocks Largo far away and goes off to fight him. Nami pretends to evacuate the villagers, but takes them through other tunnels to surprise the Amigo pirates while they are fighting Zoro and Sanji. Luffy fights Largo, but becomes trapped when he turns his entire body into a net. Luffy uses Gear Third to inflate and burst the net before defeating Largo with Gigant Pistol, destroying his ship in the process. Boss saves Luffy from falling into the sea, and then starts fighting him in a rematch that lasts for hours. Yoko and Nami discuss their respective pasts, before Nami brings the Straw Hats together and sets sail from the island. It is revealed that Boss was a specially created insect that had escaped from Shiki, and that he plans on using an army of similar creatures to wage war on the world.

The Straw Hats meet with people in places that remind them of where they came from, and Yoko becomes irritated at how easily they are bonding. The Amigo Pirates decide to head ashore, but because Largo is taking a nap, Colt leads them.
